Good design is not just about creating beautiful garments, but it is also imperative for a brand to tell a story that builds loyalty and drives business. Throughly researching and understanding the customer and account base, as well as the competitive market, enables me to plan my approach to design in terms of styling, fabrication, and costing, and how to best tackle the development of the finished product.
I provide Apparel Design on a per-project basis, which can include any of the following elements: trend research, fabric and trim sourcing, design, CADS, merchandising and technical packages.
What are the trends in the marketplace, and do they have longevity for the upcoming season(s)? Have we comparison shopped along similar markets, price points and brands? What are the key fabrications, silhouettes, colors, trims, and prints that will make our product relevant when it is released into the market? And just as importantly, what trends should we ignore or reinterpret, in order to stay true to our brand?
These are some of the questions I ask myself when beginning research on a product or a brand.
I can provide comprehensive trend reports, tailored to your customer and retailers, as well as shopping reports, color and fabrication predictives, as well as consulting on a per-project basis.
